             India ,17 countries face U.S anti-dumping tax

  Anti-Dumping:

  • It is a measure to rectify the Situation arising out of the dumping of goods and its trade distortive effect.
  • Re-establish fair trade.
  • The use of anti-Dumping measure as an instrument of fair competition is permitted by the WTO.
  • It provides relief to the domestic industry against the injury caused by dumping.
  • The united States Department of commerce is all set to tax aluminium sheet exporters from 18 countries including India after the department determine that these countries had benefited from subsidies and dumping.
  • This decision was taken by the US Department of Commerce after serval U.S aluminium alloy manufactured complained that they were being harmed because of imports at the lower prices. A U.S investigation on India states that, in year 2019, Imports from India have benefited from subsidies for 35 percent to 89 percent.
